Wicked Plus EDF Motor 4000KV

The new version of the Wicked EDF motor has arrived! This motor was designed specifically to operate in the 600-800 watt range with 4S lipos. This is a great motor for use in the 64mm EDF fan units and in 64mm EDF twin EDF models such as the Hobby Lobby SU-34. This is also is a great motor for the Hobby People Squall with either the 3 blade or 5 blade Squall rotor (the Squall stock fan requires the 3mm shaft  and XF rotor plug). Motor leads are bare wire and direct soldering of motor wires to the ESC is recommended.

Shaft size: 3.00mm or 3.175mm (1/8")
ESC Timing: Low for Pentium Series ESCs (higher timing does not increase RPM only amp draw)

Here is some test data from my Eagletree logger (more data to come)

Squall 3 blade rotor and 4S 4000 mah lipo: 51,000 rpm, 693 watts, 46.6 amps
Squall 5 blade rotor and 4S 4000 mah lipo: 46,069 rpm, 786 watts, 54.7 amps   
EDO Type I 64mm rotor* and 4S 4000 mah lipo: 50,500rpm, 675 watts, 45 amps
(*Dynamic balancing is HIGHLY recommended on the EDO I fan at these watts)

WARNING: Do not use any Wicked EDF motors with Electrifly or Suppo brushless ESCs, they can not handle the the high rpm of a 6 pole outrunner and will fry the ESC and motor. The Hobbywing Pentium brand of ESCs are the only recommended ESC for all Wicked EDF motors. If using any other brand please contact the ESC manufacturer to get the rpm limitation of the ESC with a 6 pole outrunner motor.  If you are unsure of the ESC you have then please email DonsRC before you try as DonsRC can not be held responsible for burned out motors which are damaged due to lower quality brushless ESCs.
